Fired VA employees question time limits on veteran calls

Source: ABC

PHOENIX - They risk their lives for the freedom many of us take for granted.

They face bullets, rockets, improvised explosive devices, and most of them do it without ever hearing a "thank you."

But, are our veterans, men and women who stare down death, worth 10 minutes of our time?

Some former employees of the Veterans Administration’s benefits call center in Phoenix say they lost their jobs for giving vets too much of their time.

“It's a disgrace, a total disgrace,” said the former employee who first brought the issue to the attention of the ABC15 Investigators.

Vets serving vets and their families should be allowed to serve them properly no matter how long it takes.

if our legislators actions matched their words, we wouldn't be embroiled in this VA clusterfuck to start with. The sad truth is, most of our "legislators" are Bumper Sticker patriots at best.

that "talk/call" time is critical to success, that is the last thing they will do. More likely, they will shorten the threshold on what they consider long-enough and force more off the job for violating it. Regardless of who sits in the Administration.

shortage of workers that cannot get the paperwork done. When I worked at social services many years ago when the cuts first started we were in much the same situation. We had one worker in charge of 100 Medicaid cases. She had a nerves breakdown before anyone figured out that she had too many cases.

As to regardless of who sits in the Administration - what do the Democrats gain by screwing up their own departments and getting everyone angry at them. It was and is the Rs that are benefiting from the mess their own cuts have caused.

People like you and I aren't responsible for running the place and the top level decisions that need to be made.

At the end of the day - someone's feet are called to the carpet about costs. Pro-life until they are born, pro-war until they need some help, etc...
