Bill Cosby, Lawyer React to 'Innuendos'

Source: ABC News

Bill Cosby briefly addressed the "innuendos" about him before a performance in Melbourne, Florida, this evening, and his lawyer released a statement denouncing what he described as the media's focus on "fantastical stories" in which women have accused the comedian of sexual abuse.

Cosby spoke briefly to Florida Today before this evening's show, denouncing an alleged call by a radio station to heckle his performance and explaining his recent silence on the accusations against him.

I think this is amounting to more than "innuendo."

P.S.: He got a standing ovation in Melbourne, FL.

he made with all those women years ago.

If he has to retire now at the age of 77, that's not much of a sacrifice for an extremely wealthy man.

He'll lose every one.

Have to hand it to his lawyers though, they're instructing him not to say shit, and, really, that's the best course of action. One slip up and he gets completely destroyed. It sucks, really, but yeah, that's how it goes...

One can hope Cosby gets irritate and mouths off, could give all these women closure, by a nice payout.

legacy than the one he gave these women. I also saw his AP interview with Camille by his side. She is old, they have been together over fifty years and she looked awful. What the hell is it with men dragging their wives out when they mess up? I believe he did what he did and if this is his legacy, then he drew it with his own hand.

point....too late to cry wolf now decades later when the timing of the consent is the real issue.

And isn't the real issue the culture of sexualization of actresses and actresses by the many, many power brokers of Hollywood?

There is much more evidence against others with influence over young job hunting and desperate actresses in Hollywood than Cosby.

it's mighty "conveeeenient" (to quote Dana Carvey's Church Lady) that these charges have come out about Cosby right now, when Ferguson storm clouds are boiling. After all, where is all the media outrage, tut-tutting and media investigative work concerning Ted Nugent's pedophilia. Nugent openly brags about his anti-social behavior (and, for all I know, out-and-out statutory rape). For that matter, where was the collective media outrage and follow-through on the allegations against Schwarze-Nazi? Skin color couldn't have a thing to do with it, now could it?

Even Hannibal Burress acknowledges as much (he's being given the 'credit' for reviving the issue). His stand up routine has been urging people to google "Bill Cosby rape" for six months or more--it's just when someone made a tape of it that it went viral.

Couple of school shootings or terrorist attacks or whatever no one would've noticed.

Not to say that all of this isn't a good thing, Cosby is a rapist and it's good that there is sunlight and focus on his behavior. I'm simply saying the MSM could've easily overlooked it if other events happened. I am glad and proud of the women who have since come forward. Had the MSM buried it due to other drama then these women may never have come forward.

Some of the women have given interviews long before this, it's just that the MSM didn't pick the story up.

simply no excuse for what he did; furthermore the number of women alleging the same pattern of behavior independent of one another tends to lend support to the veracity of each individual woman's accusations, imho (much as did the case of Schwarze-Nazi several years back).

That said, though, there just seems something a bit 'off' to me about the timing and intensity of the current media firestorm. Probably just my paranoia doing the talking.

Just off the top of my head, here are 3 white male celebrities whom the MSM let slide for behavior as bad or worse as that committed by Cosby:

Ted Nugent -- self-confessed pedophile
Stephen Collins -- self-confessed pedophile
Arnold Schwarzenegger -- serial abuser and adulterer

I would like to hope it's not 'racism' that accounts for this discrepancy, but something tells me that's a vain hope

Nugent is a wingnut gun nut. Collins...I've never heard of him, so how famous can he be? And Ahh-nuld HAS taken a huge hit-his "tell all" book didn't sell, and he's an object of derision for his poor treatment of his spouse. And California, being a community property state, and given that she gave up her career to support him, well...suffice it to say she'll never be hungry, and good for her, too!

I think Cosby is just the one who got caught. Does anyone really think the college date rapers stop once they graduate?

(none of this is to excuse Cosby)

Evidently Cosby had ready access to date rape drugs, which implies a market .

Edited to add - I can recall a friend commenting back c1974 about student athletes having ready access to the girls' dorm at all hours.
