MoveOn.org Looks to Nudge Elizabeth Warren Into 2016 Presidential Race

Source: New York Times

Some Democrats are “Ready for Hillary.” MoveOn.org is ready for Elizabeth Warren.

The liberal group is poised to spend $1 million on a campaign to draft Senator Warren, the Massachusetts Democrat, into the 2016 presidential race, an indication of an appetite among some activists for a more progressive alternative to Hillary Rodham Clinton.

MoveOn.org’s executive director, Ilya Sheyman, said the group planned to open offices and hire staff in Iowa and New Hampshire, the states that kick off the presidential nominating process, and ultimately to air television ads in those states. The group will begin its push with a website, “Run Warren Run,” allowing supporters to sign a petition urging Ms. Warren to pursue a White House bid and featuring a video about her.

... MoveOn.org is set to survey its eight million members for one day starting Tuesday, with the expectation that they will affirm its support of the effort to nudge Ms. Warren into the race. She is well regarded by the group, having gotten its support in her 2012 race and joining members on conference calls during her time in the Senate on such issues as student loan debt.

Hillary can wait until 2024 or run as an independent.

Hillary is a complete and utter SCAM. GW Bush called her his "sister-in-law" for a reason. She is an actual Trojan Horse controlled by the intelligence community who, for a reason, usually isn't portrayed as the good guys.

but I wish they would not do this. I think they are better at advocating for issues and supporting candidates after the primaries. Of course, they can point out various things, positive or not, about the candidates before the primaries.

I don't support them the way I used to. I think they have gotten too far away from the good things they used to do.

"energized" by this Thing That Won't Happen on ads for the nominee in the home stretch.

With Citizens United, it's going to take a lot of money to beat the GOP.

I can think of a LOT of Dems who would be happy to take large sums of corporate money.

Not that I like any of them.

When candidates--and sitting politicians--have to spend more time fundraising than doing constituent services, something's wrong.

They aren't "happy" about it--they just know that if they don't keep up, they'll get outspent and booted by the GOP.

see her in the primaries--if nothing else to give Democrats more options and to possibly bring crucial economic topics up. With that said, however, I doubt it would look good for her to change her mind after backing HC to run in 2016 and repeatedly saying she wouldn't run.

Be prepared to contribute to Warren again and again because obviously no corporate dollars for her

After what Obama is trying to do with TPP and Hillary is also for this job killing trade agreement ,Do you still want Hillary?
I don't think she can win but if she does happen to win the nomination and I don't think she will have that Democratic support.
On the Other hand Elizabeth Warren will bring the real Democrats back to the voting booth

I love Elizabeth Warren. But I would hate to see her get beat up on the campaign trail or during the primary. If she says no, then I respect her decision and won't advocate for her entering the race. Besides, I think she has more influence where she is.

THey should pledge support and $$ to him. Elizabeth Warren could be dragged into the VP once she sees the People want REAL Democrats in office. Later the ticket could be flipped to please the "Let's Make history" faction, if necessary.

The corporate media is very very good at demonizing any group outside the bubble. IMO this is like an endorsement by Acorn. A great organization, but a name that has been poisoned by the MSM forever. Like Media Matters is demonized on Fox News as simply a far left hit job that lies. And because of Fox's reach and influence, other networks shy away as well. MoveOn's endorsement unfortunately won't help if she is lambasted at every opportunity as the far left's first choice because of it.

clearly, they won and we are helpless before them.
And if ACORN could endorse, how would that be harmful?
do you think the ignorant will automatically have the last say?
and silence or deference to their menacing powers is a better approach?

seriously.
