Nicaragua to ban 2 U.S. lawmakers over sanctions on Venezuela

Nicaragua’s president said he is banning Sen. Marco Rubio and Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen from traveling to the Central American country in protest of the Venezuela sanctions the two helped pass in Congress on Wednesday, according to a newspaper report.

“Just like they (U.S. officials) have their lists, we can make our own lists in Latin America of those who shouldn’t enter our country,” Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega told the Tico Times, a Costa Rican paper, during a meeting with Venezuelan officials in his country.

Rubio mocked Ortega’s decision on Twitter: “Oh no! My summer vacation plans are ruined!”

The sanctions, primarily aimed at Venezuelan officials and proxies involved in the violent suppression of pro-democracy activists, would ban them from traveling or staying in the United States and would freeze any U.S. assets. President Baracl Obama plans to sign the legislation.

this is the first thing (and most probably last) where I will support his efforts.

Anyone who understands the true situation in Venezuela will agree with him that the thugs who have been running that country to the ground need to be punished. All the rhetoric of hating the USA while investing heavily their personal fortunes here, which they did not earn but have robbed from the country, is complete crap. These are evil people, you are horrified by the touture report of the USA, well, the one the venezuelan students suffered, and continue to endure is no better. The USA anal fed the prisoners as part of their torture, the cuban soldiers raped the venezuelan students with their rifles, where is the difference?

This country (the USA) will move forward when we all agree to look at each situation with an unbiased attitude, we must recognize when someone from the other party does something worth supporting, only then will we defeat those who work against us and stop voting for the filth that still govern us, as this year's election proved, the same old scums (Mitch McConell is a good example) got voted back into office.

The Venezuelan people do not have food, toilet paper, etc., all the fantasy stories you hear about the poor being better off with the "Robolution" is just that, fantasy. Maduro is a puppet of the Cuban regime (and so was Chavez), and if you think Rick Perry is dumm, you have not seen anything yet until you hear Maduro talk.

Anyway, do support Rubio on this one, the filth that the Venezuelan government represents must be eliminated, these people should all be in jail.

Doesn't Venezuela's refusal to be America's bitch make them 489 times worse-than-Hitler?
