North Korea internet back up after nation-wide outage

North Korea's internet has begun working again after a nine-hour disruption, that followed a US vow to respond to a cyberattack on Sony Pictures that Washington blames on Pyongyang.

Dyn Research, a company that monitors Internet performance, said early on Tuesday that links have been restored but many sites are still down.

It was not clear who or what had shut down Pyongyang's web connections, but cyber experts said the eccentric dictatorship's already limited connections had gone completely offline.

Pyongyang's disappearance from the web came after US President Barack Obama vowed to retaliate for what the FBI said was North Korea's cyber assault on Hollywood studio Sony Pictures.

Good Morning America. Said U.S. never took credit. As for this one, they quoted an expert who said it may have been "the U.S. or it could have been a 15 year old. We'll never know."
