France finds no links among 3 attacks in 3 days

NANTES, France (AP) — France's government on Tuesday denied any links between three attacks in as many days, including two nearly identical rampages by drivers who plowed into holiday crowds, but announced plans to further raise security in public spaces.

The prime minister said the attacks were unrelated to terrorism. Lamenting "the ravages of propaganda on fragile minds," he urged France to remain calm and avoid overreacting to isolated incidents.

In the western city of Nantes late Monday, a van burst into a Christmas market, injuring 10 people before the driver began stabbing himself. The night before, in the eastern city of Dijon, a driver shouting 'God is great' in Arabic ran down several crowds, injuring 13 people before coming to a stop.

And on Saturday, an attacker knifed three police before he was shot to death by one of the officers. The man's brother was arrested the same day in Burundi, their homeland. French counterterrorism investigators were called in to the case.

For the third time in a week, bullet holes were discovered at a Jewish establishment in the Paris area.

The latest incident was discovered today (Dec. 26) by the owner of a printing shop in the French capital’s 19th arrondissement, the BNVCA watchdog on anti-Semitism reported on its website.

“After the attacks upon Jewish schools and synagogues have turned them into fortresses, now Jewish businesses are targeted,” wrote BNVCA founder Sammy Gholan.

The shop’s owner, identified by BNVCA by the last letter of his last name, K, reported the holes he found at the entrance to his shop to the BNVCA after hearing reports of two similar incidents this week in Paris.

The better question is why doesn't the French government do something.

There afraid of the reaction if they actually arrest these people.

I think the ones that break the law get arrested.

Do you want people arrested for having the wrong sympathies?

Viewing the wrong Twitter feed?

Having the wrong religion?

There has to be something of a balancing act. Something about don't become the monster you are fighting. Kind of like what the US has done since 9/11.

We have already determined that Islam is the connective tissue between any and all 'attacks'. And 'why?' you ask? Because.
