Jessica Durando,
Sorry, coffee lovers.
Keurig Green Mountain is recalling about 6.6 million MINI Plus Brewing Systems in the U.S. and 564,000 in Canada following burn reports, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The model number is K10 and recalled brewers have an I.D. number starting with "31," according to the safety commission on Tuesday.
"They are single-serve, hot beverage brewers and were sold in 13 different colors," the commission reports.

Will they update the machines to the 2.0 that only allows their brand coffees to be brewed?

(34,136 posts)It just uses grounds - the Hamilton Beach The Scoop single serve coffee maker. No pods, cups or filters needed.
Hamilton Beach also makes a single serve that can use pods, cups or grounds.
To heck with proprietary coffee makers!

(5,562 posts)I'm now using a little stovetop espresso maker that makes the perfect cup of coffee. Nice stainless steel, it cost $30, is quick, small, easy to clean and has no waste except for the coffee grounds for the compost.
And if I burn myself with it, I can accept that its my fault.
