The Maryland Board of Physicians says it has revoked the medical license of a Baltimore anesthesiologist who assisted in six suicides in the state.
The order dated Dec. 12 says Dr. Lawrence Egbert does not dispute that he acted as an "exit guide" for the six patients as medical director for the Final Exit Network. The document says each patient died of helium inhalation.
The order doesn't identify the patients. It says the first death was in 2004 and the latest in 2008.

Is the only advice that will be allowed by doctors in the future that of how to increase the flow of money to the medical complex? If so, and particularly for poor patients, doesn't this mean doctors' advice cannot be trusted?
