They deserve it, frankly. The GOP deserves to have THIS pathetic know-nothing as the face of their party in the House of Reps. The Party of STOOOOPID.

(2,941 posts)I'm pretty sure that the only thing we'd need a follow-up study on, Mr. Gohmert, is whether you have cracked a lone biology book within the past few decades, or if you'd like to cite, I don't know, a single study purporting to back up the notion that a warm pipeline -- a warm pipeline -- will expedite the mating rituals of ungulates. (Or have you ever even encountered the word "ungulate" before?) Fortunately, George HW Bush had a thought along the same lines, saying, "The caribou love [the pipeline]. They rub against it and they have babies." Fair enough, Mr. President. Whatever you say.

I'm not sure there's much difference in Boner vs Gohmert politically. Both vote for the hands that feed them:

(5,586 posts)It has no chance to succeed in the full repub caucus vote. And having this buffoon run ensures any real contest to his speakership would then be a 3 way race, which Boehner would win.
And Boehner just presided over the election of the largest Repub majority in the house in over 75 years. No way the larger repub caucus messes with that success.
I leaned a long time ago, "don't wish for what you can't have."

(7,403 posts)On most votes Boehner imposed the old Hastert Rule that says you don't bring a bill to the floor without a majority of the majority. This means Boehner will need more votes in the new House than in the outgoing House because of the expanded Republican membership. A majority of the new members are of the hardline faction that believes compromise is a dirty word. That makes Boehner's job much more difficult. And McConnell's job in the Senate will be no bowl of cherries either as the shoe will be on the other foot as he has to come up with the 60 votes to get passage of legislation -- plus dealing with the prima-donna's grandstanding while running for President.
