(2,390 posts)The small town of Woodward Oklahoma was hit by an uncommon nighttime tornado just after midnight. The damage reports are significant. Thousands without power, dozens homeless. This is in my state and believe it or not, the storms were not as bad as we had prepared for. The predictions were for many more tornadoes across the state.
Woodward is going to need lots of help to recover from this devastation.

Before the days of early warning.

(289 posts)Nearly 65 years ago to the day a giant tornado moving as fast as this one surprised Woodward, killing 116. I believe it is still the biggest killer tornado in Oklahoma history. Godspeed to you all.

(8,020 posts)Get gov'mint off their backs! They don't need gov'mint help intruding in their lives, trying to control 'em.......... Or something.... Actually this chile is PROUD of gov'mint intruding into folks lives to help them. Like with affordable health care and rescue missions etc. etc. etc. etc..... I would willingly pay MORE taxes for MORE stuff like that (but LESS spending on betta ways to kill folks). Ms Bigmack
