Police officer involved in shooting in downtown KC

KANSAS CITY, Mo. —A Kansas City police officer has been involved in a shooting in downtown KC, police said.
Kansas City police said one person was shot near 10th and Main streets. The officer was not injured, police said.

When I left work it was surreal! Police cars with flashing lights blocking streets, a helicopter hovering overhead, lots of cops about, traffic back up all around. I mean, it seems whenever I hear about something like this happening, it's always in another part of the country or world. I never expected it to happen just outside where I work!
It took a little while for me to get out of downtown, but when I got home, I felt much better (after a couple snorts!)
