A fugitive former Ukrainian interior minister accused of unleashing deadly force against antigovernment protesters last year says he will work for a Russian state-owned technology conglomerate led by Russian President Vladimir Putins longtime associate.
Vitaliy Zakharchenko, whom Ukrainian officials accuse of "crimes against humanity" allegedly committed during the crackdown on Euromaidan protesters, said January 16 that he has been offered a job as a senior consultant with Russian Technologies. The company, which oversees the Russia's high-tech industries, is controlled by Sergei Chemezov, who is widely seen as close to Putin.
Chemezov was slapped with U.S. and EU sanctions last year over the Kremlins role in the Ukraine crisis.
Speaking from the port city of Sevastopol in Crimea, which Russia annexed from Ukraine in March, Zakharchenko said he had obtained Russian citizenship but has not given up his Ukrainian passport.

Incredible. This guy was supposedly on the side of Ukraine when he was interior minister, but now he takes Russian citizenship and "works" for Putin's cronies. I wonder if he'll live near the ousted president of Ukraine, who also now lives in Russia. And we're supposed to believe these guys weren't 100% stooges for Putin? Euromaidan is looking better and better.
