Human Rights Watch Daily Brief, 3 February 2015

Ukraine, Zimbabwe, US, Bosnia, Serbia & Croatia, South Sudan, Egypt, Boko Haram, mapping abuses

February 3, 2015

In today's Brief: Heartbreak for Ukraine civilians; Zimbabwe leaves flood victims "utterly destitute"; the US charities funding illegal settlements; free speech in Bosnia; UN rules "no genocide" in Serbia & Croatia; South Sudan left in the lurch; Egypt torture row; corruption & Boko Haram; & mapping rights abuses.

New reports emerged that the extremist group Islamic State (also known as ISIS) burned to death a captured Jordanian pilot. If Jordan proceeds to execute two alleged militants on death-row in retaliation, it will only reinforce ISIS callousness toward human life.

Don't share the #ISIS photos allegedly showing the burning of Moaz Kasasbeh. This is how we remember him. #كلنا_معاذ
