(36,392 posts)how much trouble we are really in.

(2,382 posts)... has devolved into a Kabuki theater of the absurd that has been perverted to serve the malevolent agenda of corporatism. I think that "parties" should be abolished altogether, that elections be taxpayer-funded, and that prospective candidates should run for office on their own merits AFTER submitting to extensive testing to be sure they're not batshit crazy psychopaths, like the majority of the current occupants of the conservative clown car! So there.

(13,071 posts)He has been in office for years. What has he done that would make you think he would do anything now? Sure he talks a good talk. But, he has had the opportunity for years to do something. And has....what...to show for it?

(2,382 posts)... simply because he doesn't seize every opportunity for self-aggrandizement through national media, don't think for a second that he doesn't "do anything." Bernie is one of my senators, and I've spoken with him and met him, the first time being 35 years ago when he was the mayor of Burlington. He and his staff have also been very helpful to me personally, and to friends and neighbors as well. But there is no one in Congress, and I mean NO ONE, who has done more for veterans and their problems than Bernie Sanders. So, with all due respect, do your homework before you start talking smack.

(13,071 posts)If you and yours will do the same before you talk overblown smack about Clinton.

(2,382 posts)... that HRC has repeatedly voiced her support for the Trans-Pacific Partnership, and has expressed solidarity with her largest campaign contributors on Wall Street. As far as I'm concerned, her TPP support alone disqualifies her as a candidate I could support. This is all extensively documented fact, not "smack."
Bernie might be a long shot for the nomination, but I see support for him growing quickly. If Clinton's handlers have any sense, they will see the massive shift in public opinion toward obscenely treacherous "trade deals" like the TPP as a warning that their candidate ignores at her peril.
