Why Hillary Clinton Will Be the Next President
Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic Party's nominee, and she will win the 2016 election.
When you analyze the objective conditions of the Republican Party today and most likely over the next two years and compare them to Clinton's strengths, it's hard not to make such a prediction with confidence.
The email flap will be gone soon enough. Short of the State Department finding some grenade of an email, the release of some 55,000 Clinton emails from the government archives is more likely to reinforce Clinton's formidable leadership and executive abilities than subtract from her decades-old image of an American Iron Lady.
Republicans will wail at her desire for privacy in not turning over her personal emails, but look at America's angst on this very topic. Many citizens feel that our privacy has been compromised, by everyone from the government to Russian hackers; that our private stuff is under threat. Hard to imagine that the citizenry will begrudge Clinton's desire for some modicum of privacy even as her official emails are published on a State Department website.

(14,255 posts)It seems like Hillary supporters are assuming that the email mess is the only thing anyone finds objectionable about Hillary. Wrong assumption.

(30,058 posts)This is a RW scandal, just like the other times the RW has rushed to try to create scandals. Her server seems to be safer than the .gov. She has transferred the information. Jeb just released his emails. There is lots more qualifications a person needs to be president.
Go to this site to find where she stands on the issues:

(92,394 posts)if they can overcome the constant barrage of right wing talking points that fill our air waves
Looking at Iowa, Wisconsin, Florida, Pennslvania, and others, the dumbing down of America will be very hard to get our message out.
The media for the most part now takes the view if someone provides incorrect information, it isn't their job to point it out, or follow-up to question it, As Cuck Todd says all they are supposed to do is just report. They are lazy
No matter who is the Demcratic nominee nothing should be taken for granted, especially with the voter suppression garbage going on

(3,226 posts)Part of the reason the email fiasco is getting press is because Hillary Clinton is not making a clear statement as to what she stands for other than it is time for a woman to be president.
A number of the actions that Bill Clinton took in the 90's lead to some of the problems we have been living with years later, for example the tearing down of GlassSteagall Act which helped create to the wall street meltdown, the "Defense of Marriage Law" and "don't ask don't tell" both continued an antigay views and the policy against Saddam Hussain which became Bush's war on Iraq which as a Senator Hillary Clinton voted for. How has she changed her views on these issues. Will she reinstate the GlassSteagall Act and support gay rights ....

(23,156 posts)Hillary will make a good nominee or a very good President, and while I think it was truly dumb of her to commingle personal and work emails (always a bad idea, always), I don't think this is the most important thing about her and whether or not she's qualified or would be good as President.

(34,661 posts)posturing. Time is on Hillary's side, and, the Rethugs are tripping over one another trying to out stupid each other. We have about 20 months left in this campaign and the populace does not get engaged until about ninety days before voting. Remember the D.C. Pundtocracy thinks they are relevant, things are a changing and these dupes are a day late and many dollars short. When Mr.Dean has input, things are about to change for the upside.
she will not be.

(23,765 posts)and because of that she will win the presidency. Just about any Democrat with heft, will win. Why? Because of the electoral college map. Consider this:
California, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, Nevada, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Virginia, DC, Delaware, PA, New Jersey, New York, CT< Rhode Island, MA, Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire
if historical trends continue and they look as if they will these states total 251 electoral votes. The Democratic candidate will only need another 19 electoral votes from all the remaining states.
Florida (29) Iowa (6) and Ohio (18) have all voted democratic in the past two elections.
Arizona, (11) North Carolina (15) and Georgia (16) and some years down the road (Texas 38)
are trending more and more Democratic in national elections.
I could see a Bush/Gore type of scenario this next time in which Hillary would get less of the popular vote, but still win the electoral college. Which if that happens you will hear much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
