Obama: Lost Down the Rabbit Hole to the Middle East Wonderland

Alice may have survived her trip down the rabbit hole to Wonderland, but it is an unseemly place for the president of a powerful but feckless nation to venture. Nor is it likely that Obama will emerge unscathed – or further enlightened.

How so? President Obama seems to have cut a deal with President Erdogan of Turkey to allow U.S. military aircraft to use Turkish airbases to launch attacks against ISIS in Syria and Iraq. Initial mainstream media reports announced this as a great move on the part of the administration. Turkey, in concert with the Gulf Sunni monarchies has, in the past, resisted entering the fight against ISIS and has allowed thousands of foreign men and women to enter ISIS-held territory as recruits. Their military intelligence agency has also been suspected of aiding ISIS alongside the Persian Gulf monarchies.

they spent half a decade backing the One Big Cartel from Bolivia to Mexico, bailing the Godfather out every year and personally ordering cocaine by the planeload (no wonder Ollie's hair's so white): even DEA branches were shuttered if they got too noisy; then they killed Camarena and everyone had to start freelancing; then we wonder where all this blow's coming from

they spent a whole decade telling the Afghan fighters to be more radical, more brutal, more bent on victory, feeding ISI and Osama's bagman (we didn't pay OBL himself, you see!), then Poppy drops the cash flow and everyone gets PISSED; then we wonder where all this anger is coming from--it must be 'cuz they're Mooslim! a brain-scanning guy told us so!

we invade an unrelated country and suppose it'll be over in 6 months

we ask Qatar and Arabia's ultra-Salafist fighters to get even more so and literally hire AQ against Qaddafi: we thought the war would be over in 6 months and for years anyone who said Libya had unrest was accused of hating Obama; Israel's now treating and backing AQ

we arm and fund and train the FSA and wonder how on earth the weapons are making their way to Daesh; if you were against this nonsense in 2013 you were damned as a creationist in the name of Holy Asimov
