From Steve Wimberly, director of the film:
"After months and months of intensive research, interviews and filming, we are well into production on "Atticus and the Architect"
We have several more very important interviews to make this year to wrap up the year.
We want to pour our energy into telling the Don Siegelman story to as many people as possible.
From the moment this project first began, we made a commitment to tell the entire truth about this case, and substantiate it with illustrative details to provide a historical record of what really happened.
This film will hopefully make an impact by revealing many of the flaws in our judicial system that allowed this innocent man to be railroaded into prison, and to expose the judicial abuse that has become so pervasive in America's courts.
If you are familiar with this case, you know that Don Siegelman does not belong in prison at all; you also know that the objective rule of law has been completely disregarded, and replaced with the political agenda of his political rivals.
From the prosecutorial misconduct to the malicious prosecution to a wrongful conviction --
-- the list of abuses in this case is simply staggering.
We've been able to join forces with Academy Award winner Maria Florio and actor/activist Mimi Kennedy, who have both signed on as producers of the film.
Maria and Mimi will add an enormous impact of quality and expertise to our feature length documentary."
