this is the same argument they were making, which it is not.

But Ted Cruz may not be eligible to be President.

It's a minority position in the law, but unlike birtherism, it IS a legal point of view, rather than a crazy racist claim.

"Natural born" in the Constitution may well have meant "physically born within the borders of the United States." No subsequent laws or practices or later interpretations can change what it meant at the time it was written. Nothing short of amending the Constitution could do that.

It's weird, and it's not the way I'd prefer to hand Ted Cruz his walking papers. We should all do that because he is a dishonest loon with a crazy glint in his eyes and dangerous ideas.

and cruz is not eligible. I wouldn't say it's a 'minority' position as it hasn't actually been taken up yet, but

"Natural born" in the Constitution DOES mean "within the borders of the United States." AND, importantly, 'No subsequent laws or practices or later interpretations can change what it meant at the time it was written. Nothing short of amending the Constitution could do that.'

concluding: 'a child born in the United States of Chinese citizens, who had at the time a permanent domicile and residence in the United States and who were carrying on business there other than for the Chinese government, automatically became a U.S. citizen.'

But anything that would take this pile of horseshit off the national stage would be a good thing.

But if, by some freak chance, he does get the nomination, I say we go after him tooth and claw over it.

is how did he get a Social Security number in the first place? He had to have some sort of documentation.
