"We are cutting our healthcare costs by $500 per employee!"

No, you are shifting your healthcare costs by $500 per employee. There have certainly been years when they give raises and try to make everyone feel grateful for them but the increase in net health costs has been more than raises.

It is never enough and it is always more.

While the fat cats at the top collect bonuses galore.

And should we need help, we get substandard care.

A mix up of meds, washed down by most wretched dietary fare.

It is certainly more than our poor bodies can bear!

The surgery may be long and may be gruesome,

But the hospital staff says you shall be home by Two-some.

You can do your wound care at home by yourself,

We'll give you supplies to put on a shelf.

Too bad the mastectomy left you sore arms,

Just think positive thoughts, then hope for some charms

That magically will prevent infection and what not

Cuz your insurers say protocols for
paying for antibiotics is Just Not So Hot!

So you got the surgery but won't get more.

If the germs do you in, at least you won't be bored

By your living to some ripe old age in a cardboard box,

With your retirement funds having gone to the Docs!

that one may purchase ACA insurance that has all different levels of deductibles of ur choice, looks like ignorance of Health Insurance is still very high.

I don't think employees always have the choice.

There is also another issue, that high deductibles prompt some people to forego care (discussed in the linked article). That may be the biggest flaw in the ACA... it forces people to buy coverage, but not necessarily coverage they can afford to actually use. So then it becomes nothing but catastrophic coverage. Which would be okay, if that's what someone wants, except in many cases, the option of low cost catastrophic coverage is not offered. So people are paying for something that is ostensibly "better" than catastrophic coverage, but they end up only being able to afford to use it as if it were merely catastrophic coverage. ACA subsidies nearly guarantee you can afford the premium, but they don't guarantee you can afford the care. So people are sometimes essentially forced to buy coverage they can't afford to use.

problem is most do not value their employees enough to make the right choices for them . and yes under ACA , it is personal choice, that was my point- how many people are too ignorant to make their personal ACA choices. only a single payer will correct this
