What if the problem is that poverty is profitable?
A review of Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City. Looks like a very worthwhile book.

(466 posts)Yes, it was a riveting read. Eviction is sound business policy for many property owners these days. The author followed the daily experiences of individuals and families in Milwaukee through eviction processes and it is so sad..and unnecessary. But, hey, it is very profitable so it's the good old American way. Money is more important than people any old time.
