Enough with the Hillary cult: Her admirers ignore reality, dream of worshipping a queen
Clinton voters overlook money lust, shadowy surrogates, sociopathic policy shifts, horrific overseas record. Why?
CAMILLE PAGLIA
Im starting to wonder, given the increasing dysfunction of our democratic institutions, if the Hillary cult isnt perhaps registering an atavistic longing for monarchy. Or perhaps its just a neo-pagan reversion to idolatry, as can be felt in the Little Italy street festival scene of The Godfather, Part II, where devout pedestrians pin money to the statue of San Rocco as it is carried by in procession. There was a strange analogy to that last week, when Sanders supporters satirically showered Hillarys motorcade with dollar bills as she arrived at George Clooneys luxe fund-raiser in Los Angeles.
The gushy indulgence around Hillary in the Manhattan media was typified by Vanessa Friedmans New York Times piece, Hillary Clintons Message in a Jacket, after last weeks debate. Evidently oblivious to how she was undermining the rote sexism plank in the Clinton campaign platform, Friedman praised Hillary for playing the clothing card against Sanders: Hillarys long white jacket made her look like New Yorks white knight, riding to the rescue.

All this queen/coronation/whore talk is crystal clear. Bro.

That's my point. If you refer to her as "the Queen" you're a sexist. Period. She's a candidate running for elective office.

(4,802 posts)She has betrayed us way too often and they think policy wonks will forget.
I mention Haiti, Honduras, the bankruptcy bill, Iraq war votes , the TPP being the gold standard of trade deals. .
Yes, due to the Supreme court, we will vote for Hillary but with no enthusiasm.. Notice how established Dem's do not want to talk of the record and instead call for a kumbayah moment.
Issues will not go away..
Bernie potentially defending Hillary will have little influence over Bernie or bust people. They are policy wonks and can't be swayed by emotion.
Am I to forget my angry calls to Sen Clinton when she was sucked in by Bush's lies and most Democrats knew better including much of the Senate leadership at the time. I say she did it for political expediency not wanting to be labeled unpatriotic. Even some conservatives such as Sen. Bob Graham knew better. No I will not forgive her even as I betray my anger over her vote for the Iraq war.
The supreme Irony, Trump in his twisted brain , so unfamiliar with issues; will chastise Hillary for her Iraq vote and the TPP deal. And it will stick.. Just offering a strategy to sway Bernie voters.. Bernie has no control over his policy wonks.. I suggest Hillary take a lie detector test.
DU. Don't censor this suggestion , it is made in a spirit of how to get a fix over the democratic wing of the Democratic party. They are beyond the control of Bernie. You might silence Bernie , but the left such as Chris Hayes, Robert Scheer, Noam Chomsky ; along with Donald Trump - won't let them forget. ? You tell us , why did Dick Cheney and the Neo -cons' Weekly Standard editorialize. Hillary is better then Trump.?

(4,802 posts)He/she refused to rebut my issues. These are solid issues of which you choose to ignore..Over throwing elected governments that are fighting feudalistic governments , or burdening Americans with more stringent bankruptcy laws is not progressive. Once wrong, you are foolish not to be suspicious.
You might ignore them but Donald Trump or true liberals ,those who are not party clones won't..
I said, i'd vote for Hillary with little enthusiasm. what more do you want , blood.
It is going to be interesting to watch Donald Trump chastise Hillary for her war vote. That won't sway me, but I bet with a lot of millennial it will. This is not my challenge to the Dem's, but their own challenge to overcome their past.
I suggest you teach Hillary how to cover her tracks among the millennial and blue collars voters. You issues are with them, not me. Because The Donald is so unscrupulous, he'll go to any lengths to exploit Hilary's bubble.
Dick Cheney heaps praise on Hillary Clinton
"I have a sense that she's one of the more competent members of the current administration and it would be interesting to speculate about how she might perform were she to be president," he said.

I don't like HRC at all. Don't trust her one bit and it's going to be incredibly painful for me to vote for her in November. But if anyone can make me want to vigorously support and defend her just out of spite, it's Camille Paglia. I used to love her writing on gender and pop culture before she got all political and reflexively "I'm a Democrat BUT....." during the Clinton years. It's been all downhill since then for her.

Americans would rather have Tyrion as President over Clinton, Trump

Get over it and stop pretending it isn't in front of your face.
Dem nominee - yes.
Champion for the people - hell no
Elected by the majority of the people - no
Elected by superdelegates - hell yes
So sad to see another election being steered by the wealthy again to the person who will do their bidding.
Sellout comes to mind when I think of her.......... so sad
Wonder what Hillary thinks of Citizens United now? (hint........Lovin' It!)
