... We don't go out of our way to produce stories about, say, a woman charged with having loud sex, or teachers having sex with students, or people who fly the Confederate flag being bigots, or raising the speed limit on the interstate to 70 mph, or Ted Cruz being the Zodiac Killer ...

It's not our fault that some woman was arrested in Red Lion for, as the police stated in a criminal complaint, "loudly fornicating." That was the word police used. It wasn't as if we went out of our way to mention "fornicating," hoping that someone on the Internet seeking, perhaps, information about, say, animal husbandry, or thoroughbred breeding, or any of the Kardashians, would accidentally stumble upon the story and share it with their imaginary friends in the Internet ...

... they don't ask why we don't write about people who fly the Confederate flag and how it makes them seem like the kind of people who would want to own other people. They ask why we make such assertions about people who fly the Confederate flag when they believe it is simply a means of expressing pride in their heritage – a heritage, I remind you, that includes going to war against your own country for the right to own people. They claim the war was really about "states' rights," but the only right they seemed to be concerned with was the right to own people ...

The people who accuse us of this kind of thing don't seem to pay attention to the more serious issues that we cover, such as whether PennDOT will increase the speed limit on Interstate 83 to 70 mph and whether it will lead to mayhem and carnage on the highway or just allow you to escape the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at greater speed ...
