31 credible incidents (of voter impersonation) out of one billion ballots cast (over 14 years)
First let me say how proud I am of Hillary tonight. To paraphrase Michelle Obama, she went "high" in all three debates, even with a truly despicable opponent. I so look forward to the next eight years of her presidency. I'm convinced she will surprise many with the progress she will accomplish for our country and its' citizens.
The article linked below will speak for itself. Trumps' claim of voter fraud, cheating, rigging or whatever is just patently false. Speaking from personal experience, I have worked precincts in Chicago for years and have never once witnessed, or been approached to commit, voter fraud. Years ago and I mean decades, like 50 years or more, that might have occurred, but not today. The election system has greatly improved and Trump, worse than a child, is grasping for anything that might save him face. Please reference the article for more on this topic.

I must hat tip The Huffington Post here. I found the article link while reading one of their articles.

(1,041 posts)Isn't there just as good a chance that the impersonators vote Republican rather than Democratic? Its interesting that everyone assumes Democrats benefit.

(4,356 posts)Growing up in the Chicago area, many in political circles discussed the vote tit-for-tat that allegedly occurred in Illinois during the Kennedy/Nixon presidential race. The republicans were allegedly stealing votes in Du Page County (once the largest republican county in Illinois) and in Peoria county, another republican stronghold. The democrats were allegedly stealing from the Chicago/Cook County area. We all know Kennedy won in a squeaker.
There's also a well known statement from the late republican Senator Everett McKinley Dirksen of Illinois. When he was behind in the vote count one election night, he was asked by a reporter if he was worried that he was losing. He responded that the we needed to wait and see. The votes from a little county called Du Page were yet to be counted.
That's all part of the distant past. Election systems are much harder to "cheat" today. Cheating can go both ways, but the elections of today are run and operated in a way that makes that unlikely.
