The Only Article You Need to Read About Why Trump Voters Are Angry
(Because it's the only article people are writing about Trump Voters)
Seemingly every day, Donald Trump violates a previously sacred political norm. By almost every measure, hes a dangerous outlier in American civic history. And yet, though hes on track to lose on November 8, he retains more than 40% of voters in most polls. As much as the rest of the country wishes it werent so, tens of millions of people still want Donald Trump to be president.
Who are these people? What drives them? And who are these people?
Whats become painfully clear this election cycle is that theres a fundamental disconnect between national journalists most of them based in New York City or Washington D.C. and the white working-class Americans who are Trumps most ardent supporters. But, except for roughly 7,200 articles on the subject, there has been scant effort made by the mainstream media to understand the kind of voters who say Trump speaks for them. So I set out on a road trip to the part of America most coastal elites dont think about, except when theyre reading one of the fourteen daily pieces in the mainstream media where a journalist visits a town most coastal elites dont think about.

(1,996 posts)So many say it's the bad economy in those areas, but I don't believe that, because then people would be looking at alternate political parties, maybe socialist ones. Instead they go back to the primary creator of the problem, the Republican party and their RW kook noise machine. One thing when we had larger Union membership in this country people were getting their information from better sources instead of the Ailes/Brietbart/Infowar shit. Unions weren't always right about everything like the Viet Nam war but it wasn't full monty stupid like it is now. I remember during the eighties, even the ones from the rank and file, who got fooled by Reagun would still send a Dem to the house or senate. It's the media stupid.
