Both promoted a simplistic message of returning to an imaginary better time. Both used simple slogans instead of an actual plan, and both were controlled by a Vice President who actually ran the country.

Any complex and negative analyses that induce cognitive dissonance will be rejected by these voters.

I won't argue the fact that, under Reagan, George H. W. Bush probably did "actually run the country."..however, I fail to see any evidence that, under Twitler, Mike Pence is "actually running" anything but his own big mouth.

But I still feel that Pence is the price Trump paid for GOP support. Without active GOP suppression Trump would not have won.

However, imo, despite "active GOP suppression" (especially "Crosscheck&quot , Trump still would likely have lost to HRC, were it not for the letter FBI Director James Comey sent to Congressional leaders just 11 days before the election.

HRC was ahead of Twitler in the polls by between 11-14 points, having gained on him after the "grab 'em by the pussy" tape was released;
but Comey's letter, lost her at least 7 or 8 points, so she went into the election with only a 3 or 4 point lead, not an 11-14 point lead, which was not enough to defeat the asshole..

The fact is, the GOP has proved over & over that it is able to steal any election which is close; but Obama proved twice that Dems can still win an election that is NOT close.

From Nixon in 1968 through Reagan in 1980, through Bush Jr in 2000, ending, so far with Trump in 2016, the GOP has demonstrated that it will steal national elections.

But history books do not cover this particular history because it refutes the myth of American democracy and the people choosing wisely.
