March is Womens History Month, a month to recognize women and the continued fight for womens rights. The following resources provide a short history of advancements in womens rights and the activists behind them.
Elizabeth Cady Stanton: The Right to Vote
Elizabeth Cady Stanton was a founding member of the Womens Movement and fought for the equal treatment of women. At the first Womens convention she drafted the Declaration of Sentiments, Grievances, and Resolutions where she proclaimed that all men and women are created equal. In 1869, along with Stanton, Susan B. Anthony founded the National Woman Suffrage Association. This American Icons video provides insight into the fight for the right to vote.
