And the extremist love calling the conservatives "liberal".

It's like the greater evil accusing the lesser evil of being too good,

even though there is no resemblance to a liberal.

its intent was to get people to reflexively sneer when they heard "environment" or "pollution" or "animal"

fortunately, their program has only worked at a surface level--most people would give someone a knock if they witnessed them tying a dog to the railway tracks, 70% support Social Security, most people want at least a public option, etc., etc.

A snowball's chance in hell of seeing to it that we have meaningful choices at the ballot box.

We now have a politburo of super-billionaires who choose who the next two candidates for the Presidency will be. And those two will not do much of anything that relates to what most people want.

Obama got elected in part because he took on Dennis Kucinich and John Edwards' messages and utilized those themes for his final swing through the state of Wisconsin in October 2008. He sounded progressive - he pledged to be progressive.

And then once elected he promptly forgot almost everything he said.

What is sad about the new "American politburo" is that is has taken power by attacking anyone who tries to do anything meaningful as being a "communist" or a "socialist."
