It's amazing what you find out in a conversation at lunch

I have a co-worker in the field of servicing the blind community.

I knew he was from near where I grew up in Virginia
I knew that he went to college in Houston TX.
I knew that he served i the Coast Guard.

On Wednesday we had our normal lunchtime Round table discussion (no politics - no religion) and he was there. It's always a very interesting conversation.

"How did you get to Houston?" someone asked
"Early in the civil rights movement I moved there to desegregate the schools"

WOW. I had no idea. He's everything you'd want in a public servant. Top notch.

There was a bit of a pause in the conversation and then it went elsewhere.
I nudged him.
"Really?"
He smiled and said "Yeah"
