How can you still doubt Trump's intelligence? - By Kathleen Parker

By Kathleen Parker Opinion writer June 23 at 8:06 PM

Five months into Donald Trump’s administration, only the unwise doubt the president’s intelligence.

Just ask former FBI director James B. Comey, who, in addition to being fired by Trump, has been redefined by the president as a dishonest leaker who might have lied were it not for nonexistent tapes of their conversations.

Wait, what?

It takes a craven sort of cunning to pull that one off. One day, Comey, a man admired for his brilliance and integrity, is investigating possible collusion in the 2016 presidential race between Russia and the Trump campaign. The next, he’s watching his professional life unravel on television and reading that he’s not to be trusted.

Trump didn’t stop at upending the man’s career, cutting short his FBI directorship by six years. He next tweeted that Comey better hope there were no “tapes” (quotation marks his) of their private conversation that subsequently became the focal point of congressional investigations.

allows this creature to exist. Does he possess "A craven sort of cunning"? YES, but I have watched the media destroy politicians for far far less than the facts we KNOW about Trump.

If the powers that be within the ownership of newspapers and cable news wanted this guy gone, he would be done.

Never forget they destroyed Howard Dean over a war whoop at a political rally. They destroyed Dukakis over riding in a tank, Kerry for wind surfing.
They were painted as elitists and worse and then they went down.

Yet, they still normalize Trump, just ask Hewitt on MSNBC.

Trump knows how to manipulate the media, knows how to turn their desire for sensational news against them. Not that they don't bear any responsibility at all, but mostly Trump.took advantage of them.

He knew what to say so that they would cover him. In the early days, they devoted more time to him than to any other candidate. He knew all he had to was say controversial thinks and they would cover him. The election became all about Trump rather than everything else.

It'a what narcissists do best. Make sure everything.is anout them, all the time. He taps into something primal in the human psyche. Resist the urge, or it just.feeds the monster, like feeding an internet troll.

get away with outright lies, racist statements, outrageous ballyhoo and fake conspiracies when it mattered most. They were possibly influenced by the Fox Pravda model. To their credit they are trying to remedy that wrong while right wing media continues to perpetuate the fraud and the GOP increases subtle political pressure. The MSM is still the best part of our hope to rid ourselves of the pariah called trump.

He is without conscience and totally focused on self preservation and self enrichment. I am not sure it includes much intelligence beyond what any conscienceless snake would have. He has no sense whatsoever of fair play like most people do. I am sure he sees that as a weakness.

He is a one trick pony. He has learned that attacking throws people off balance and his attacks require intelligent people to respond. He figured it out as a child and it is still working for him.

Like a monkey throwing shit. Some of it sticks.
