SPLC under attack by hate groups close to President Trump
October 19, 2017
As expected, the annual Values Voter Summit in Washington this past weekend featured a rogues gallery of far-right extremists. But something extraordinary happened this year.
For the first time ever, a sitting president spoke at the gathering shamefully lending the legitimacy of the White House to hate groups like the Summits host, the Family Research Council and its president, Tony Perkins.
Whats more, President Trumps former chief strategist, Stephen Bannon, also addressed the audience and took the opportunity to attack us.
Im not surprised that Bannon singled us out for his vitriol. Weve been a thorn in the FRCs side for years calling out the group because it relentlessly vilifies the LGBT community with demonizing rhetoric and falsehoods.

(4,268 posts)the eugenics loving, white nationalists from FAIR, NumbersUSA, CIS in any immigration related article.
I have to say those organizations are extremely well organized and are very quick to overwhelm the comments section of any immigration related article. When anyone outs them out and mentions the SPLC's designation as hate groups they start their attacks trying to discredit SPLC.
It's amazing how these organizations have been legitimized by the media - I see articles from FAIR, etc almost on a daily basis somewhere.
The saddest part is that there must be lots of people who voted for this shit who don't realize how extreme people like Miller and Bannon are.

(15,805 posts)Trump added Bannon to his administration because he agrees with Bannon's racist views. Trump's bigoted, anti immigrant statements are antithetical to the very foundations of our democracy.
