With Blow-Out March Heat Wave, Meteorologist Masters Says ‘This Is Not The Atmosphere I Grew Up With

2012 Heat Records Demolish Cold Records 14-to-1

It has been a summer to remember. In winter.

Like a baseball player on steroids, our climate system is breaking records at an unnatural pace. As Weather Channel meteorologist Stu Ostro says of the current heat wave:

This remarkable warmth is associated with a bulging ridge of high pressure aloft that is exceptionally strong and long-lasting for March. While natural factors are contributing to this warm spell, given the nature of it and its context with other extreme weather events and patterns in recent years there is a high probability that global warming is having an influence upon its extremity.

This year, U.S. heat records have been outnumbering cold records by a stunning amount — 14-to-1 (19-to-1 in March) – as this chart from Steve Scolnik at Capital Climate makes clear:

that is going to be a real stinker in tornado alley and maybe Dixie in the next few days.

We'll have one day of really cold weather followed by another warmup, that's normal for us.

Parts east will likely see a lot of rough weather when this one hits the humid air in the country's midsection.

About 20 years ago, when the first HUGE ozone hole was reported in the back pages of the newspaper, I started noticing that the sunshine just felt more intense in spring especially March. Haven't heard about the ozone hole in years. Curious isn't it?

in Minneapolis.

It's like summer in Minneapolis. I'm getting full-blown allergy attacks.

Our normal March weather is a fight between winter and spring, with a chance of blizzards at any time.

Yet the long-range forecast shows that after the heat wave passes, we'll have highs in the 50s and 60s for the rest of the month. No blizzards or even temps cold enough for snow as far as the forecasters can see.

Koch suckers put billions into denial of the facts to confuse the public onto thinking this is a natural climate trend. Maybe when it is too late and the US has become one long tornado alley dust bowl, we can say I told you so.

If we boil the water off the earth we'll be cooked. They dump enough oil into the ocean , add coresist and a match, we could have a grease fire. Boil dry. Just saying absurd extension of conclusions. Maybe if they light up Iran we can have World War three. And nuke up some extra rads into the atmosphere, the Christians, Jews, and Muslims can manifest their firey rapture. Why is that so seductive to them, that visionof total annihilation in fire is the preferred vision of the future.
Kock suckers, are out there manifesting visions of Raython, General Dynamics, and all those Military Industrial fuckers, Arms carteling, the planet to death.

"And in case you think the only extreme weather records being set this year are in the United States, remember, “Brutal Droughts, Worsened By Global Warming, Threaten Food Production Around The World.”

The really worrisome part is that we’ve only warmed about a degree and a half Fahrenheit in the past century. We are on track to warm five times times that or more this century (see M.I.T. doubles its 2095 warming projection to 10°F — with 866 ppm and Arctic warming of 20°F ).

In short, we ain’t seen nothing yet!"

Thanks for the thread, MindMover.
