Stephen Miller Threw Away $80 Worth Of Sushi When Confronted
White House aide Stephen Miller recounted a story to colleagues when he was so upset at being confronted by a hostile bartender that he threw away $80 of takeout sushi, according to a Monday Washington Post report.
He reportedly had gathered his maritime feast and left the restaurant only to hear his name called from behind him. He turned around to face a bartender who had followed him out. Miller said that the bartender stuck up his middle fingers and hollered curses.
Distraught, Miller dumped the sushi in the trash.
Many Trump administration officials and other Republicans have faced public protests in recent weeks, largely focused on their roles in family separations at the border.

They have no template for being confronted because they're used to simply buffalo'ing people with their toughness - like Michael Cohen with his in-yer-face "Sez WHO?" Well, he's not so tough now, is he? Where's his in-yer-face schtick now?

(7,530 posts)Good sushi in a city probably starts at $8-10 per roll. It's not like he threw out buckets of food.
But yeah, $80 is a week of groceries some places if you're lucky.

(81,308 posts)Thats true civilian democracy at work. Too damn bad if they cant enjoy their luxurious meals in peace. Theyre still getting off easy, if you ask me.
I LOVE hearing these stories! Its probably the only real justice they face. For now. Its about time these fiends faced consequences for their actions. Even if its only unofficial and non-pro-based.
Consider where these assholes are and the atmosphere and people and bias that surrounds them. Theyre inside THIS utterly contaminated White House. Theyre willingly and deeply mired in a pro-trump/Pox Noise environment and scalp-deep in it. They have blinders almost surgically attached. Theyre thoroughly insulated from the real world where the opposition to what theyre up to is ALIVE and WELL. Where they are, its probably easy to fall into the belief that the objection is some kind of fake news or all made up by a few sore losers.
So when they get confronted, face-on, by the alive-and-well opposition that cant be dismissed as some organized insider operatives or paid agitators, then theyre knocked off their game. The usual responses, haughty public sneers, and smug dismissals dont work out here in the real world - thats filled with millions - millions MORE than what their guy got - who didnt vote for their boss, know better than to swallow his ever-present lies, and wont ever fall in line to support him. Theyre not used to that, and they dont know what to do or how to respond. This doesnt fit the template from which theyre operating.
This pushes them off their game.
This is GOOD. VERY GOOD! MORE, please!!!

(22,037 posts)When the bartender followed Miller out of the restaurant, he flipped the double bird and cursed Miller out. I worked in a number of restaurants and I suspect the bartender told Miller that he better be careful with his sushi since the chefs are no fan of his boss.
Miller did the only thing he could and tossed the food.
By the way, I'm also confident that the bartender's warning was empty and the food was unmolested. No restaurant wants to get a reputation for messing with the food; it would be the kiss of death to the business.

How can public shaming be bad if it makes Miller so upset?
Stephen Miller, to his credit, has lasted longer than most of the sycophants and grifters who have become famous in the Trump administration. But a big drawback to working for Donald Trump is, well, people know your face and know you work for Donald Trump. Lately, that's meant that strangers are willing to call you out in public, a practice that's become so prevalent that The Washington Post put together an entire story about the ongoing harassment of Trump's underlings.
And Miller, despite being a demonstrably insufferable person throughout his entire life, doesn't seem well-equipped to handle the negative attention. Per the Post:
One night, after Miller ordered $80 of takeout sushi from a restaurant near his apartment, a bartender followed him into the street and shouted, Stephen! When Miller turned around, the bartender raised both middle fingers and cursed at him, according to an account Miller has shared with White House colleagues.

(81,308 posts)He doesn't ever have to know whether that bartender made some comment to the kitchen about the human vermin who just ordered sushi.
Have you ever read some of the stuff online - from disgruntled restaurant workers? Either because they had rude customers or people who fleeced them on tips or were mean to them in some way? YIKES!!! Revenge, from back in the kitchen, is often horrific!
One of many reasons I always try to be a nice customer, and leave a good tip.
