Americans who are accustomed to receiving an income tax refund tend to file their taxes early often in late January or early February when all the paperwork becomes available but this year many early filers are finding to their surprise that they actually owe money to the IRS.

(3,011 posts)I haven't filed my taxes yet, so I don't know what I owe. I know I'm strapped after 30K in medical expenses since December. It will take me 3 years to pay that back. I can't afford any more setbacks. Crap!! So scary!

(92,394 posts)deductions for SIT and Property Tax, along with eliminating interest rate deductions on equity loans used for anything but home improvement, a good number of those who used to itemize deductions will be the most impacted, but even those who didn't will find that the elimination of the personal exemption will impact them also.
The ones impacted the most will be the middle class.
The extremely wealthy and corporations will make out like bandits, but don't worry, the trickle down economics will provide so much benefit...

The Vox article doesn't even mention the elimination of the Personal Exemption, which is a BIG oversight on their part, because that impacts everyone
