Trump's Remarks Before Air Force One Departure - Joint Base Andrews, October 28, 2019

REMARKS

Remarks by President Trump Before Air Force One Departure | Joint Base Andrews, MD
Issued on: October 28, 2019

Joint Base Andrews
Prince George’s County, Maryland

8:45 A.M. EDT

THE PRESIDENT: So, we had a great weekend for our country. We captured a man that should’ve been caught a long time ago. Unfortunately, he wasn’t. He’s done tremendous damage. But it was an amazing display of intelligence and military power and coordination, and getting along with people. Lots of great things happened. So that was a big, big day and a big weekend, and we’re very happy about it.

The economy is doing phenomenally well. We have — it looks like another good day will be taking place today. In the stock market, good numbers are being — good numbers are happening all the time. We have good numbers happening all the time.

Very soon — I guess we’re in record territory for stock. That’s great for 401(k)s, that’s great for everything. It’s great for jobs.

So, things are going good. Do you have any questions?

{snip}

Q Mr. President, why did you have such an aggressive response to John Kelly’s comments over the weekend?

THE PRESIDENT: Oh, I don’t think it’s aggressive at all. I would be surprised if he made those comments in a negative way. But I don’t think the response would be — if he actually said that, if he actually meant that, I said what I’d do, and that, I mean.

Q Mr. President, are you concerned that Nancy Pelosi and others can’t be trusted with this kind of information?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, I guess the only thing is they were talking about why didn’t I give the information to Adam Schiff and his committee. And the answer is: Because I think Adam Schiff is the biggest leaker in Washington. You know that. I know that. We all know that. I’ve watched Adam Schiff leak. He’s a corrupt politician. He’s a leaker like nobody has ever seen before.

{snip}

You've watched Adam Schiff leak? As I said elsewhere at DU:

A bumbling mass of incoherent words thrown out like a fool.

And that's just what the filthy rich capitalist wants representing them.

... Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and I have never heard of one case of Adam leaking classified
information. One more lie from the man who has told >13,000 lies since he was sworn in as Russia's President
of America.

I have seen more than one time Chairman Schiff not answer a question or speak on a subject because that information
was classified.

YOUR opinion of Adam Schiff is irrelevant.

You had a responsibility to inform certain members of Congress of your actions. That is your job. Your personal feelings are inconsequential. That you notified Putin before you informed the Speaker of the House (Third in line to the WH.) is a GROSS dereliction of duty - even for you. This country is NOT your personal sandbox. By yourself, YOU are NOT in charge. There are three co-equal branches of government. Your failure to learn, understand and respond to that is but one of many things that deem you UNFIT for the job.

I am sick to death of your failures. RESIGN. NOW.

Before we really do what the crowd at the Nat's game chanted, "LOCK HIM UP."

Before you (and by association, us) are responsible for any further unnecessary loss of life in the ME.

Before you roll over again for another murderous, dictator, authoritarian thug.

Before I have to listen to you turn another military operation (in which YOU played NO part) by highly-skilled professionals into a cheap action made-for-tv movie.

Before you damage this country's international reputation by another day of your foul-mouthed lies.

Before another one of our allies turns to Russia for help.

Before I puke blood listening to your voice.
