Health Care Threat is Real - Priorities USA Action op-Ed in USA Today, 8/16

http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/editorials/story/2012-08-15/Priorities-USA-Action-ad/57079726/1

Joe Soptic's story is one of thousands from individuals whose lives were devastated by the decisions Mitt Romney made in his business career.

Even though many of those stories are emotional, they are important to tell. Mitt Romney wants his business career to be at the center of this campaign, and we're making sure voters know the facts about how he spent that career focused on creating enormous wealth, not jobs as he claims.

Mitt Romney isn't responsible for anyone's illness. But as the CEO, chairman and sole shareholder at his company, he is unquestionably responsible for the loss of the jobs at this plant. And he is equally responsible for the termination of health benefits, even as he and other executives were taking millions in fees and profits.

Mitt Romney has had a devastating impact on the lives of thousands of Americans, and it's important that Americans know the truth about that record.

Did it for an amount of money that, by itself, is no more significant to him than the nickel I saw on the sidewalk is to me. Make no mistake, Romney would kill you, cut your throat with a grin, for the coins stuck in the crack of your couch. Romney is interchangeable with a mugger or drug pusher, morally or psychologically: he will take whatever anyone has, whatever the harm it does them, so long as he can get his own hands on it and do so in safety. The back-story proffered as apologia in this does not make a damned bit of difference: if Romney had not gutted the company the man worked at, and pocketed for himself that man's livelihood, the matter would have turned out differently, and everyone involved knows it, with the possible exception of Romney and the sycophantic flacks of the press desperate to prove they are 'fair' by looking away from the truth of what vulture capitalism is, and what a vulture capitalist is. Romney killed this man's wife for pocket change, and Romney has done this to hundreds, thousands of people; pocketed their livelihoods and pensions, thrown them out of their homes, left them destitute and dying, and all so he could cram a few more dollars into his pockets. He has no regard whatever for human life where snatching a few more bucks for himself is concerned. That is what he is, that is what he does.

"Romney loves America like a tick loves a dog."
