5 Brilliant Things Barack Obama Did In His Convention Speech
President Obama did a lot of good things in his convention speech, but here are the five brilliant points in his acceptance speech.
1). The Republican Obsession With Tax Cuts
What Obama Said, Now, our friends at the Republican convention were more than happy to talk about everything they think is wrong with America, but they didnt have much to say about how theyd make it right. They want your vote, but they dont want you to know their plan. And thats because all they have to offer is the same prescription theyve had for the last thirty years: Have a surplus? Try a tax cut. Deficit too high? Try another. Feel a cold coming on? Take two tax cuts, roll back some regulations, and call us in the morning!"
Why it was Brilliant: The President could have made some dry argument about tax cuts, but instead he made a joke that was completely true. No matter what the problem is, the first Republican and sometimes only Republican solution proposed is tax cuts. Obamas tax cut humor was not only true. It is going to be replayed and repeated for the next 24 hours on every newscast.
2). Mitt Romney the Blustering Bumbler a.k.a George W. Bush

Why? Nothing better to do with all of that blood and money? Or unable to come up with an alternative vision of our place in the world? I just don't get it, never will. Probably gets him votes. Too bad though, U.S. military is way overkill and we're taking money from every mouth in the country to feed the MIC.
Good speech by Obama today, he always delivers. I'm not down with many of the policies he backs, but this article in politicsusa is mostly spot on as far as the political savvy, the Dems did a great job framing their positions to put the squeeze on the Repubs.
