Force unfiltered! On poverty, the economy, and life

Drag racing champion / mogul John Force is known for speaking with exuberance. Racers are generally loath to make any political statements, lest they offend a sponsor, but he's a Force of nature - a stone-broke farm kid who's made it big enough to not be held back by sponsor reps and lawyers.
Recently, he has been hosting Q&A sessions, and who can say it better?

Force’s first zinger drew a healthy response from the heavily-attended function.

“In this economy … and I ain’t for anybody but there’s no President going to save America … it’s the working man. It’s the military men and women fighting every day to give us the American flag and freedom. These guys at the White House … and I don’t mean just them … all parties don’t get their s*** together we are going to tumble. We don’t need to have Army tanks in the middle of the Boulevard.”

“I used to be in the strawberry patches in Northern California,” recalled Force. “My mom would tie a rope to a rock and around my leg so they wouldn’t lose me.”

The entertaining Force was “kinda-sorta” homeless by his unique estimation. “I lived in my car. I had my girlfriend’s picture on the dash … my football, schoolbooks, and my football helmet in the back seat. My Playboy mags were under the seat.”

He embarked on a safety campaign for the Funny Car class inspired by the death of team driver Eric Medlen, even angering a group of fans when he suggested Vince Lombardi’s 'winning is everything' has its flaws. “He never lost a man on the playing field,” Force explained.
