Those weren’t the exact words that some Midlands members of Congress used when asked whether they would give up their own salaries while the federal government is shut down.

But that’s sure how it sounded.

“I’ve got a nice house and a kid in college, and I’ll tell you we cannot handle it. Giving our paycheck away when you still worked and earned it? That’s just not going to fly,” said Rep. Lee Terry, R-Neb.

Not only have they lost the barflies at the corner beer joint, they're losing editorialists deep in the bright red heartland.

Even Lame Duck Boner is going to have to start noticing some of the blowback if he can pry himself away from the 19th hole.

After all, what's the good of retiring if you can't go home and be a big shot for the rest of your life?

It may take him a few days, or more. He will notice, then maybe resign..(yes, I predict he will resign cause of all this...)
