The basketball-playing, treadmill-running, golf-loving 44th president of the United States has been tripped up by a painful foot injury.
President Obama is suffering from plantar fasciitis, Physician to the President Ronny Jackson, M.D., tells Lifescript in an exclusive interview.
The president has had [the condition] off and on over a 6-month period, Dr. Jackson says. He experiences pain when he overdoes it it usually clears up.
Wow. That sounds pretty painful...

(11,913 posts)It got me through a bout with plantar fasciitis that was not responding to ice, rest, stretching and "the boot". I still have to do gentle stretching in the morning, but it is 100% better, and I only was taping it for a bit over a month.
My doc showed me how to tape it, then had me watch a video in his office from this company that sells really expensive, colorful, precut tape strips (lots of waste). I bought one box of the expensive tape from my doc and tried it. After knowing how long the tape needed to be, I was able to buy all the subsequent rolls of kinesio tape from Walgreens

It's really hard to heal because one has to be one's feet often enough to disturb the healing.
