(14,093 posts)He may have been a Congressman for only 5 minutes, but he'll be happy to help provide cover for racist conservatives for decades to come.

(8,377 posts)Hannity game him an opportunity to make his case. Instead he just insistent to talking over Hannity over and over. This is why I can't watch any of these "news" networks anymore.
Too bad. It seemed like Hannity was actually willing to give him a reasonable format to work with and instead Ellison just got into name calling. Makes us all look bad.
No wonder we can't get anything done in Congress. People seem to have completely forgotten what a two-way conversation looks like.

(8,377 posts)I wasn't being sarcastic. The fact that Hannity has done many things to not deserve any respect doesn't change the facts that:
1) It is still better to show respect rather than just appear like a brain-dead teabagger; and
2) It was an opportunity for Ellison to make good points to Hannity's viewers, making Hannity look like the unreasonable one.
Instead he just reinforced what Hannity's viewers already think of us. And didn't accomplish anything. People talking over one another might make good theater, but it doesn't cause anybody to reevaluate their position. It just hardens their position.
Very poor performance. Ellison needs to get some PR coaching.

(5,106 posts)let alone listen to. I just can't help being drawn to controversies such as the Ellison thing, unfortunately. To Hannity a rant consists of him giving a liberal guest a fair chance to refute him. Ellison was more than reasonable in tone. Watts blew any chance of making a reasonable response. Could someone please give the man the "popcorn and coke concession" he seems so hung up about? If Mr. Hannity finds it "hard to get liberal guests to come on his show," I'm pretty sure I could provide a list of them that he could start with,

"A Black man voting for the Republicans makes about as much sense as a chicken voting for Col. Sanders,"
"I couldn't be no Republican because the Republican Party is against the poor man."
