B for effort, D- for research, F for lack of analysis. He's implying "slept with" is the same as "swived with" (look it up, ya illiterates!). When you tackle the trivia of a well researched and frequently discussed topic, you have an obligation to discuss the context of the "shocking" facts you're shocking us with. This whippersnapper doesn't.

"was actually partially racist and gay".

Well, okay, the speculation about Lincoln's sexuality has been out there for a while; particularly given that the "Log Cabin Republicans" more or less take their name from said speculation.

As for racist, given the time Lincoln's racism was relative. He wasn't perfect, and it's worth noting that "freeing the slaves" was an outgrowth of the CW more than a casus belli--

however, here's the problem: Racism is undoubtedly a bad thing. Being Gay is not. By phrasing your OP the way you do, you -intentionally or no- come off sounding like you're ascribing negative traits to Lincoln, negative traits being racism (undoubtedly negative) and being Gay (which is not a negative trait).

You can see why people here might have a problem with the way you've presented it, right?

The person who presented this is a liberal, saying he was gay wasn't supposed to come out as a bad thing.

there are probably better ways to at least write the text in your OP so it doesn't sound that way.
