They do it in Europe... (updated)
Today is the day when over 1,000 Hyatt housekeepers will officially be submitting fellow housekeeper Cathy Youngblood to be considered as a board member for Hyatt Hotels. This is part of an effort to not merely sway the board of directors to be more socially conscious, but hopefully can begin a movement encouraging other normal everyday people to run for corporate boards that often times put their employees not just behind profits but puts them LAST when making decisions about the company.

Across the country, Hyatt workers are urging the company to add a hotel worker to its Board of Directors. They want Someone Like Me -- a housekeeper, a cook, a dishwasher, or a bell man -- to help shape decisions affecting them.
Most of the people who sit on Hyatt's board are millionaires and billionaires, but none of them actually work in a Hyatt hotel.
What if things were different? What if Hyatt created some space at the table for Someone Like Me?
