"We're really puzzled," he says in the video posted on Friday. "We've spent weeks trying to figure out what to call this."
Weeks.

(10,098 posts)Hey,
I'm surprised he didn't mention all the social networking available on it for him to find a mistress and his next wife.

(7,394 posts)"I believe the term "smartphone" came into use about the time you were fucking that woman other then the one you were fucking while married to the woman you divorced on the hospital bed. So instead of looking for words, why don't you look for some goddamn MORALS?"

(57,936 posts)I would call this video "A member of the older generation is seeking to understand what the younger generation understood long ago." It would be cute if Gingrich weren't so self-important.
What in the world makes Gingrich think that what he calls "it" will matter to anyone?

(13,141 posts)I don't think it will work. Newfangled devices, hand held,
when you can't see or hear all that well, aren't so exciting
as he wants to make us think.
Causes more stress. Not helpful for health.

(27,461 posts)maybe when people write in their answers to him ("call it a smartphone" he sells their contact information to identity thieves.

(3,688 posts)Call it whatever you want; but it IS a handheld computer; its very very powerful and it will change everything. It's already brought down Romney.
It will hopefully keep Republicans the hell out of high office.

(12,882 posts)And maybe it's because I AM of Newt's generation. Of course, I have no problem calling these devices I-phones or Smart Phones. What I'm wondering is WHEN are we gonna get real-time inquires from our reps in DC (via these devices) as to how we'd like them to vote on given issues. The potential to do this is HERE and NOW. It's not being mentioned because "our" reps actually take their orders from the folks of K street. God forbid they ever ask their constituents for guidance!
