Authoritarians are basically unimaginative, mechanical and generally incapable of thinking independently, nor on their feet. Reactions and instincts they can handle. They understand anger, hate and above all FEAR. Peace, non-violence, loving and caring support for community -- not so much. It's hierarchical authority structures, or nothing. Right brain thinking is so ambiguous and confusing for them.

But they have their Official Police State How-To Handbook with all the plays laid out for them and they're going through them one by one, just like they were conditioned to do. All the necessary material for the construction of this monolithic state, thanks to the MIC that Ike tried to warn us about. That's why you can hardly tell the difference between the cops of today and the army of today.
