&feature=player_embeddedDemocratic Rep. Waters calls GOP leadership 'demons'
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), in video surfacing Wednesday, called Republican leaders Speaker John Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor demons who are destroying this country.
Weve got to take back the House, Waters said last weekend in seeking to rally California Democrats to political action in the final moments of her speech to the California Democratic Convention.
She pointed to the display behind her as she continued: "I saw pictures of Boehner and Cantor on our screens. Don't ever let me see again, in life, those Republicans in our hall, on our screens, talking about anything. These are demons. These are legislators who are destroying this country rather than bringing us together, creating jobs, making sure we have a good tax policy, bringing our jobs from back off-shore, incentivizing those who keep the jobs here. They are bringing down this country, destroying this country, because theyd rather do whatever they can do destroy this president rather than for the good of this country.

In the midst of a national financial catastrophe, Rep. Maxine Waters used her position as a senior member of Congress and member of the House Financial Services Committee to prevail upon Treasury officials to meet with OneUnited Bank. She never disclosed that her husband held stock in the bank.
Rep. Waters is an eleven-term member of Congress, representing Californias 35th congressional district. She is a senior member of the House Financial Services Committee.
Rep. Waters was included in CREWs 2005 and 2006 Most Corrupt Report for unrelated matters, as well as in the 2009 report for her actions regarding OneUnited.

The OneUnited scandal:
Waters' husband is a stockholder and former director of OneUnited Bank and the bank's executives were major contributors to her campaigns. In September 2008, Waters arranged meetings between U.S. Treasury Department officials and OneUnited Bank, so that the bank could plead for federal cash. It had been heavily invested in Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, and its capital was "all but wiped out" after the U.S. government took them over. The bank received $12 million in Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) money.

hypocrisy (yes, the despicable Newton thuglet should have been drummed out on his corrupt arse too, as he eventually was), but Water's should heed her own words as well:

more hypocrisy (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac water-carrying, especially for the deplorable Franklin Raines and the other directors)

Bottom line, most of the Rethugs and the Dems are both so knee deep in the pig trough it is sickening.
The Repugs have a more directly wicked agenda, but the Dems are all too often the other side of the same coin. To hold up for praise corrupt people like Waters serves no good person for the USA as a whole.

(3,827 posts)They are not meant to influence Republican voters.
Dancing around Cantor & Boehner and driving that crucifix into their hearts is one way to show the blatant disregard that these clowns have for job creation, affordable health care and every other topic that is designed to help out the middle class. There is a reason that this current Congress has the lowest approval rating in the history of the US.
The GOP already has their aggressive talking heads influencing a major political network (Faux). What's wrong with Mrs. Waters throwing gasoline on that fire? The Anne Coulters, Sean Hannitys & Rush Limbaughs of the world need to be called out for what they are all about. Sitting back and taking shots is not an option in politics these days. Be the first to boot stomp your opponent, or die if you don't.
