&feature=player_embeddedIt would be a good idea if we did. All this has been going on for years.

(5,610 posts)I feel like it is trying to put the Jeanie back in the bottle and no matter what is decided, "they" will still illegally spy on us.
I am disappointed that Bernie Sanders will not run for POTUS.

(8,821 posts)If what the NSA is doing is unconstitutional, and it is, then it doesn't matter if eighty percent of Americans say it's OK, because it is still illegal. High government officials are breaking the law when they order such things done, and judges are violating their oaths when they approve those actions.

(8,821 posts)Thank you. It's good to know someone agrees. The fact that opinion polls don't decide constitutionality nor legality needs to be pointed out. It needs to be said loudly, or no one is likely to hear over the orchestrated roar to approve whatever the government says it needs to, "Keep us safe."

(9,090 posts)what is and isn't important and acceptable to talk about.
all they have to do is stop giving the RW think tanks a free speech free ride on 1200 coordinated radio stations.
make it impossible for the monopoly to continue by demanding our universities stop endorsing global warming denial (by broadcasting sports on, and endorsing, RW radio stations including 170 limbaugh stations https://sites.google.com/site/universitiesforrushlimbaugh/ ).
and make repeating those talking points by politicians and media a laughable offense.
pretty soon we could start having fact-based discussions about national security, drugs, immigration, election reform, media reform, single payer, etc.
until the left stops ignoring RW radio, limbaugh and hannity and their wannabe spawn, on behalf of the 1%'s think tanks, will have a lot more to say on these issues than senator bernie sanders or any group of senators, or present and future presidents.
