(247 posts)Senator Wendy Davis has a positive attitude and shares her thoughts very articulately about women's health issues in Texas (and elsewhere) that Republicans are thwarting. She is an energizing breath of fresh air and a politician I increasingly admire. Rachel Maddow's show is the first one I've seen where Senator Davis has had the opportunity to carry on a thoughtful dialogue about her views and goals. Love to see such real, honest, political intelligence at work in our (women's and men's too) favor.
I'm a man in California who hopes you and your allies succeed in blocking the outrageous attempt by Texas Republicans to roll back women's right to choose and access to healthcare. Further, I hope you succeed to what ever higher office you may choose to pursue, whether in Texas or nationally. Go Wendy!

(15,774 posts)Hell on women and horses...I believe general Sherman is quoted as saying that. The women that survive are tough as a corn cob pipe and can kick some serious ass. He'll, even our sweet little blue haired grannies can kick some serious biker ass.
I can't believe the lege would be so stupid to call another special session after the women got so railed up. It is one thing to sneak it through in the last days of the session in the cowardly fashion known and expected...but once light has been shed on the subject, they scurry like roaches to the dark corners.
The GOP has done the perfect redistricting, making it almost impossible to get Dems elected. And Dems act like Marvin Milquetoast and run these GOP lite candidates that hard core Texas Dems (and you have to be hard core to survive here) won't vote for.

In the 2013 legislative session, Lt. Gov. Dewhurst removed her from the TX Legislature's 2011 Education Committee due to her strong sense of good. She defines the will and rights of the people in any setting that she is in. She keeps working for the People.
Wendy Davis for Governor, Wendy Davis for Texas Senator, Wendy Davis for President or Vice President.
Go Wendy!
