I've seen him steamroll people on tv shows covering the case night after night with his vile garbage and made up 'facts'. There's something not right upstairs. I don't know why they invited him on to talk, let alone take over. He's nauseating.

I wonder if the corporate media wants a violent reaction to the verdict.

HLN and CNN especially (along with the usual suspects such as Limbaugh and the Fox News crowd) seem to be giving a largely non-critical forum to people like Taafe. Why would they give this guy hours of airtime to spew his nonsense and not at least report on this kind of background?

Dr. Drew has him on every night (as does Nancy Grace) and also someone called Miss Ali who seems to advocate a violent response to the verdict.

Do you remember how everyone was glued to their TV sets during the Rodney King riots? The cable news channels are in a major ratings slump and there is nothing like footage of riots and racial unrest to captivate the viewers.

It is disheartening to think that our media would act this way, but remember the non-critical build-up to the Iraq war, along with the record ratings of CNN as we all watched spellbound.

So call me a conspiracy nut or paranoid, but I rarely see corporate greed trumped by the public interest.
