Stevie Wonder Reacts to Zimmerman Trial Verdict

While performing in Quebec City on July 14th 2013, Stevie Wonder reacts to the not guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman trial that followed the shooting of Trayvon Martin. He declares he will not perform in Florida as long as the Stand-your-ground law isn't revoked there, or anywhere else in the world with such a law.

Stevie just tours now and R&B stations wouldn't dare. His stuff isn't played that much anymore on the corporate stations. But this is awesome ... Maybe more will follow.

Matter of fact, what about sports figures who couldn't count their money in one life time....such as
Lebron James...Miami Heat......just sits out.....he has two sons....it's the least he could do for Trayvon.

If I had a 17 year old African-American son who was being recruited by a Florida team, I would flat out refuse to let him even visit.

Not only is it a statement, its a dangerous place for him. Who knows when the next Zimmerman will appear, or who they will go after. And you cant read Stevie Wonders eyes for intent, so he might just be a threat.

I'm being slightly hyperbolic, but only slightly.

That said, I'm somewhat surprised he didn't get boo'd off the stage. Speaking American English in Quebec city instead of Faux French.
