First, very rarely has an American president provided security for a private American citizen due to death threats. In addition, the only times I know of that any protection has been ordered by any President was when the National Guard was called upon to escort African American students into schools that had been ordered to admit them, but those schools refused to admit the students. Second, if the President had to supply protection to every person who received a death threat at least half the country would need protection.
